Shirley White

Shirley White, a longtime resident of Jacksonville died Sunday, March 22, 2015. Shirley was born November 15, 1935 in Felton, Georgia. She retired from AT&T in 1995 after 35 years of service. Since retiring she spent her time with grand kids, volunteering and square dancing. She is preceded in death by her mother Effie Fincher, father Lloyd Fincher and grandson Michael Collins. She is survived by her sisters Brenda Morris, Peggy Tankersley and brother Danny Fincher, all of Georgia. Also, her children Karen Gay of Colorado, Sharon White, Sheila Marfut and Wayne McWhorter all of Jacksonville. She has eight grandchildren, Jennifer Eller, Khristina Collins, Laura Minard, Adam Spencer, Jakob Rupar, Daniel Marfut, Sarah Marfut, She has ten great grandchildren, Brylon, Baylor, Kaidge, Kunzleigh, Keiton, Kyleigh, Zachory, Hannah, Alyssa and Peighton. Visitation will be held at Hardage-Giddens Edgewood Chapel, 729 South Edgewood Ave., Jacksonville, FL 32205. (904) 388-2711 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 27, 2015. The funeral service will be held at Westside Baptist Church, 7775 Herlong Road, Jacksonville, FL 32210 at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 28, 2015. Interment will follow at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205. Funeral attendees are invited back to the church for food and fellowship after the interment.
