Shirley Ann Price, age 92 of Jacksonville FL passed away peacefully and met her Lord and Savior on June 4, 2020 at 11:45pm. Shirley was born on November 16, 1927 in Spirit lake, Idaho to her parent Gail and Effie Rooks. She was the 2nd oldest of 7 children. Her family moved to Portland Oregon when she was a teenager where she would later meet her future husband. Shirley married Charles Price Sr. and they created a life raising their 7 children and building a successful laundry and rug cleaning business. They left their business in Portland to their Son Kenneth when they decided to become permeant snowbirds.
In August of 1985 they moved to Jacksonville, FL. where they embarked on a new endeavor, opening up a new family curbing business known at Perma-curbs with their 2 sons Charlie and Jim. They were married for 43 years until Charles Sr. death. Shirley and Jim continued on the family business until she finally decided to retire at 79 years young!
Shirley carried a love for Jesus in her heart and tried to instill those same values in her children. She always tried her best to be there for her kids to listen and would give advice regardless if they wanted to hear it or not.
She had a love for people and often enjoyed opening up her home for bible studies and family get togethers. She was a wonderful hostess and was meticulous about her appearance. She would never even come out of her room in the morning until she was fully dressed with her clothing, jewelry, makeup and hair done always looking beautiful. She was consistent with this up until her very last days.
Shirley enjoyed square dancing, baking, crocheting and doing crafts. She appreciated spending time with her family and playing with her grandchildren. She loved to get her nails done and looked forward to her Saturday Hair appointments.
She is survived by her 7 children Diane, Linda (Ron), Jerry (Penny), Charlie (Cheryl) , Chierrie (Dave), Kenneth (Kelly), James (Terry); 17 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and 2 siblings Alice Dunn and Lee Rooks; .
