Scott served in the U.S. Army in the 82nd Airborne Division as a paratrooper. He served two tours of duty including Desert Shield/Desert Storm and Grenada. Following his time in the military, he worked in a variety of occupations, the most recent being as a code enforcement officer with the city of Jacksonville, Florida.
Scott had a kind, warm, and playful personality, and was loved by many. He was nicknamed “The Mayor” by a close friend because he shook the hand of everyone he met. Scott never met a stranger. Alongside his wife, he served as a church greeter at Deermeadows Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, going to the movies, participating in church activities, and woodworking. Scott loved his pets too.
He is survived by his wife Angie, son Sean, and sister Janet. We will all miss him dearly.
Scott's memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, April 16, 2021 at Deermeadows Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Jacksonville National Cemetery at 1:30pm.
Arrangements by Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin, 11801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, FL (904) 288-0025.
