Sarah Elizabeth Groves

Sarah Elizabeth Groves, 82, passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2010. She was born on July 8, 1927 in Dublin, Georgia. She was the loving wife of the late Henry H. Groves, Sr. She had lived in Jacksonville, FL since1946. Sarah was an employee with the Riverside Hospital Clinic, working in the Insurance Department. She was a member of Hart Haven Baptist Church. Sarah was also instrumental in the formation of the Jacksonville Women’s Golf Association which was her passionate sport for many years. She is survived by her son, Donald “Don” Groves (Monica) of Asheville, NC; her 3 grandchildren, Barrett Whitten and Cameron Whitten, Paula Twigg (Ty).

The family visitation to greet friends will be held on Friday, March 26, 2010 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Hardage – Giddens Edgewood Funeral Home, 729 South Edgewood Ave., Jacksonville, FL. Graveside Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 11:00am at Evergreen Cemetery. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, gate 5.
