Smith, Sara L. 89, born April 29, 1930 in Jacksonville, FL passed away February 16, 2020 due to a lengthy illness. She was pre-deceased by her husband Gordon S. Smith, Sr. and her daughter Brenda Wimberly. She is survived by her children Gordon Jr. (Bunnie), Charles (Susan), Larry (Linda), Sandra, and Rick (Teresa). She also had 11 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Outside of her devotion to her family, she had a career in retail management. She enjoyed traveling the U.S. with her late husband and their lifelong friends, Bud & Gwen Tracey. She loved the beach and spending time in the mountains.
The viewing will be Friday, February 21, 2020 at 10:00 am with the funeral services to follow at Chapel Hills Funeral Home and Memory Gardens, 850 St. Johns Bluff Rd. N. We ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
