Born in Paris, Texas on April 25,1955 to parents Billy Floyd Fletcher and Roevia J. Stevens, Sandra grew up with her sisters Barbara and Carol and had a strong relationship with her grandmother Dorothy. After graduating highschool, Sandra’s passion to help others compelled her to follow in the footsteps of her grandmother and obtain her nursing degree. She worked in various areas of the medical field, including intensive care and geriatrics, but she spent most of her career in the field of dialysis after moving to Jacksonville, Florida.
Sandra was a loving mother to Sarah, Mitra, Daniel and Mary, an adoring grandmother to Jacob, Michael, Haley and Elizabeth, a supportive sister and a devoted wife to Gregory to whom she was married for 24 years. Sandra also had an affection for animals; she was especially fond of her fur baby Zoe who her children lovingly joked, was her favorite child.
Sandra’s character was one of heartfelt intensity. She loved to laugh; her sense of humor was witty and one of a kind. She had a strong desire to help, not only those she loved, but anyone in need of compassion. Sandra was humble, yet fierce, highly empathetic, and one who knew how to take charge when things got tough.
Sandra is preceded in her passing by her grandmother Dorothy, her daughter Mary, her father Billy, and her grandson Jacob.
