Pat was born to the late Theodore and Corrine Yawn on November 14, 1938 in Queens, New York.
While she spent the first 38 years of her life in New York, she spent her remaining years in South Georgia and Florida respectively.
While her career included many different occupations, one of her fondest memories included working for Macys and marching in the Macy's Day Thanksgiving Parade.
In later years, she continued her work in the bursar office at Valdosta State University in Georgia.
She decided to make the move to Jacksonville Florida for a change of scenery and to be closer with family. Pat continued her career at the University of North Florida working in the office of Auxiliary services. She was also lucky enough to work with her daughter Kelly on campus.
She finally retired from the University of North Florida in 2010, where she was able to enjoy spending her time catching up on her thrift shopping, cross word puzzles and Jeopardy. Known for her vibrant red hair and boisterous personality, she was lovingly given the nickname “Redhot”. She never met a stranger she couldn’t have a conversation with and was always willing to help out anyone she could.
Pat loved many things in life but her main love was always animals, she never met an animal that she did not love or did not try to bring home!
“Nothing on earth will separate us, not time, not space, not even death”
Till we meet again.
She is survived by her daughter Kelly Reeder, Cousins Karen Shepard and Bruce Shepard, Her dear friend Jessica Thompson, Her friends and of course her fur babies.
