Ruby Pearl Reese, age 95, passed away January 17, 2017 in Jacksonville, Florida. Ruby was born on November 7, 1921 in Faceville, Georgia to Ben and Anye Betts. Ruby was an active member of Venetia Terrace Baptist Church and served her church faithfully by helping with Vacation Bible Schools and as a Sunday school leader. She read the Bible faithfully. Ruby also enjoyed crochet and embroidery as well as watching old western movies such as John Wayne movies.
Ruby is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Logan and Lester Betts; one daughter, Terry Day; and her husband, Julian C. Reese. Julian and Ruby were married for 69 beautiful years. She is survived by her daughter, Judy Culpepper (Walter); three grandchildren, Wendy (Charley) Harris, James Culpepper, Benjamin (Brittany) Culpepper; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 23, 2017 from 6:00 – 8:00pm at Hardage-Giddens Town and Country Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at 1:00pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Riverside Memorial Park.
