Ruby Mae Murray was born April 7, 1935, in Climax, Georgia, to the late Hosea Bell and Lizzie Andrews. A few years later Ruby relocated to Cario, Georgia where she attended Washington High School and was in the Graduation Class of 1955. While Ruby was attending high school, she played on the girls Basketball team. She loved participating in sports and it showed on the court. Upon graduating she met the love of her life the late Freddie Murray Sr., and they got married and relocated to Miami, Florida. She was employed at Jackson Hospital working as a Nursing Assistance for 30 years. Shortly, after Ruby retired from Jackson Hospital and dedicated her time in Church where she joined Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in 1964. She has been a member for 59 years, serving under the leadership of Pastor D.L Powell. Ruby was active in the church serving in the Choir, Choir Secretary. In addition, she was the Assistant Teacher for Orientation ministry and Vacation Bible School Teacher. Ruby was well loved by her family and friends for showing everyone love. She will be truly missed for her passion and hard work.
Ruby M. Murray is preceded in death by her son Freddie Jr, and daughters Quesandra Lemon and Denise Murray. She survived by her two children daughter, Theresa Griffin (Antonine Sr./Husband) and son Hosea Murray (Kinarda/Wife); her 16 grandchildren Antoine Jr., Lennorris, Detrick, Turkessa, Joshua, Latarris, Latasha, Tiffany, Nicole, Trenise, Hosea II, Brandon, Tyler, Kayla, Kenya, Kinteal; nephew, Frank Bell who was raised like her brother; nieces Annie Laura Bell Parker, Leoma Hamilton; twenty five great-grand children; and a host of other relatives, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mom, we love you, although the world changes from year to year, our lives from day to day, but the love and memories of you, shall never pass away.
A receiving of family and friends for Ruby will be held Saturday, February 4, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205, followed by a memorial service at 1:00 PM.
