Ronald L. Hodges Sr., 81, passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2017 in Jacksonville, FL. He was born January 10, 1936 to Daniel and Alva Beatrice Hodges in Jacksonville, FL. Ron was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy. Over his lifetime, Ron was a volunteer with various ministries and most recently a ministry alongside Mary where he fed the homeless. He was a member of Garden City Church of God and loved going to church as well as attending gospel sings. Ron’s passion was spending time with his grandchildren as well as with his family. He is preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Jacqueline, brothers Jim Hodges, Robert Hodges, sister Kathleen Hodges and son-in-law Earl Roman. Ron is survived by his children, Jeanna (Paul) Drew, Ronald (Sherri) Hodges Jr., Randall Hodges, Cynthia Roman, brother Daniel Hodges, grandchildren Lacey, Jonathan, Ashlee, Kaitlyn, Marshall, Hollye, Cristina, Emiline, Stephen, Joseph, great-grandchildren Ayden, Layden and Jacqueline. Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home is serving the family. A graveside will be held in his honor on Monday, October 30, 2017 at 1pm at Edgewood Cemetery, 4519 Edgewood Dr., Jacksonville, FL 32219.
