Roman Omelan Pidhorodeckyj, 60, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2019. He was born in Manhattan, New York on June 2, 1958. Roman graduated from SUNY Maritime College with a Bachelor’s degree In Engineering. He met the love of his life, Robin Howell, on a blind date, and they were married in October of 1987.
Roman worked as the lead engineer in the Design Division / Electrical Engineering Department for the United States Navy at the Mayport Naval Station in Jacksonville, Florida. He was a devoted member of Beaches Chapel Church in Neptune Beach, Florida. Roman’s faith in God meant everything to him, and he instilled this faith in his family. Roman loved to go fishing for large mouth bass and spending time in the outdoors. He adored his wife and 2 children, and loved them dearly.
Roman is survived by his wife, Robin Pidhorodeckyj, his daughter, Jenna Elizabeth Pidhorodeckyj, his son, Roman Christian Pidhorodeckyj, and his brother, Pete Anderson. Roman is greatly loved by his family and his friends, and he will be greatly missed.
A Visitation will be held from 6:00pm-8:00pm, Friday, June 7, 2019 at Greenlawn Chapel, 4300 Beach Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32207. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 11:00am at Greenlawn Chapel, with a Gathering of friends and family beginning at 10:00am. Graveside services will follow and be held at Greenlawn Cemetery. A Reception and Gathering will follow the burial services, and will be held at Greenlawn Chapel. Arrangements are under care of Hardage-Giddens Greenlawn Funeral Home, 4300 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32207. Donations made in Roman’s memory can be made to The Alzheimer’s Association.
