Roger Lee Young

Taps are playing for ATCS Roger “Rusty” Lee Young who passed away peacefully in the early hours of March 21st surrounded by loved ones. Born on April. 20, 1928 to Clarence and Ida Kretzer Young in Pennsylvania, Rusty went on to live out 90 years. He is reunited in heaven with his wife of over 50 years, Marjorie Hogan Young of Jacksonville, FL. Rusty spent 30 years in military service for his country with 28 years as a radioman, in the United States Coast Guard in Air Search and Rescue. He and his beloved plane, an HU16E retired together in May of 1982 at USCG Air Station Cape Cod. He is survived by his daughters Cindy, Mindy, and Missy who traveled his career with him in one great adventure after another. And, his grandson Kris who together declared themselves as the best of buds.

A memorial service will be held for Rusty on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at 2:00pm at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32205.
