Robin Christine Robertson passed away on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 after a valiant fight with cancer. She was born at Oakland Naval Hospital, in Oakland, California on April 13, 1954 to Joanne and Coll (Robbie) Robertson. Robin was a proud graduate of N.B. Forrest High School Class of ’72 and went on to receive both a BA and Master’s degree from Florida State University. Many young lives were touched by her devotion to her profession with Florida’s Department of Juvenile Justice for over 30 years. A people’s person: available to listen, encourage, advise and to always and in so many ways brighten one’s day! Robin exemplifies her deep religious beliefs by being, to others, the friend you were blessed to have because she gave so much of herself, expecting nothing in return. Robin: #1 shopper, baker, and giver of all good things, and solver of everyone else’s problems. Robin is survived by her husband, John Wiley McLendon III, the precious daughter to her parents Joanne and Robbie Robertson, beloved sister to Jody, (Neal) Chipoletti, Dawn (Terry) Fenske, Scott (Kelly) Robertson, and Colin (Laura) Robertson; her nieces and nephews Derek Chipoletti, Kelsey, Coll, and Ali Robertson, Taryn and Trey Fenske, and her great nephews Austin and Hunter Chipoletti as well as her great niece, Harper Chipoletti who always received such loving care and attention from their cherished Aunt Robin, especially by her attendance at school and sports events. She was a most vocal “cheerleader.” The Stibors, Aunt Jewell and Uncle Fred, cousins April, Nat & Miranda in Michigan were very close to Robin, also. The love of God and the closeness and concern for her family was the focus of her life.
