Robert Paul Young

Robert Paul Young, age 84, passed away on September 11, 2018 in Jacksonville, Florida. Robert was born on April 14, 1934 in North Carolina to Paul L. and Wilda Ferguson Young. Robert proudly served in the United States Navy and retired from service after serving over 20 years. He was a member of Argyle Church of Christ. In his spare time, he loved to fish and golf. Robert was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Robert is survived by his loving and faithful wife of 64 years, Jacqueline Young; his sons Robert P. Young, Jr. (Julia) and James Young (Cheryl); granddaughter Catherine Thompson; three great-grandsons; one brother Richard Young; and other extended family members.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 17, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home. A committal service will follow at 2:00 p.m. (Lane 1) with full military honors at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32218. The family will receive friends one hour prior beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral on Monday.
