Robert Thomas Manley Jr.

Robert (Bob) Thomas Manley, Jr., 60, passed away on Friday, March 10, 2023 after a short battle with cancer. Bob was born on March 31, 1962 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida to Robert Thomas Manley, Sr. and Natalie Mae Manley. He was raised in Fort Lauderdale and grew up loving to fish and go to the beach, two hobbies that he kept throughout his entire life. Bob married the loving mother of his two children, Jennifer Elizabeth Manley, in 1989. In 1994, Bob and his family relocated to Jacksonville, Florida, where he and Jennifer were the owners of Bry-Tech Distributors, which he has helped grow and nurture over the last 29 years. In 2011, his wife Jennifer passed away unexpectedly, but Bob remained a beacon of positivity and light in everyone’s lives. In 2018, Bob married Melissa June Manley, and they made many great memories together including numerous cruises and trips to the beach.

Bob was an amazing father who tirelessly supported his children in all of their endeavors and was incredibly proud of both of them. Throughout his life, Bob served as a great mentor to people of all ages, sharing pieces of life advice wherever he went. He shaped the lives of many young men as a little league baseball coach for 10 years, was a second father to many of his children’s friends, taught numerous people, young and old, to fish, and helped people see the bright side in any situation. He always wanted to help others, and loved to see people succeed. No one was ever hungry if they were around Bob, as he loved to grill and cook delicious meals for everyone. Bob loved to be outdoors. Some of his favorite pastimes included golfing, camping, bike riding, grilling, and fishing with his friends and family. Everyone who knew Bob, loved Bob.

Bob was pre-deceased by his mother and father; his brother, Robin Patrick Manley; and his late wife Jennifer Elizabeth Manley. He is survived by his wife, Melissa June Manley; his children, Melissa Mae Manley and Darryl Patrick Manley; his sister, Michele Manley Brown; his step-children Stephen Curbow, Ashlee Curbow, Caleb Carroll, their children to whom Bob was an amazing grandfather, and several other wonderful relatives and friends.

A visitation for Robert will be held Saturday, March 18, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 11801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32223, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM.
