Robert “Bob” Arnold Labbe, 82, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away June 10, 2015. Born in Lansing, Michigan in 1933, Bob was one of six children. He served in the United States Army before graduating from Michigan State University. A few years later he moved to San Francisco, where he met and married Margaret “Peggy” Kane. After several years, he moved to Connecticut where he worked for Connecticut Bank and Trust for ten years before moving to West Palm Beach, Florida in 1980 and becoming a real estate agent. In 2006 both he and his wife moved to Jacksonville where he became a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and enjoyed spending his time on the golf course, watching baseball games, and playing with his grandchildren. Bob cherished over forty summers at his family’s beloved cottage on Little Alum Pond in Brimfield, Massachusetts, which will forever remain a place of remembrance of him. He is predeceased by his parents, Arnold and Hester Labbe, brothers, John, Richard and William Labbe, sisters, Colleen Labbe and Elizabeth Schubel, and his son-in-law, Mike Crosby. Bob is survived by his wife, Peggy, his children, Mark Labbe (Michelle), Elizabeth Crosby, and Gregory Labbe (Heather), and six grandchildren, Emma, Maia, Cole, Reese, Luke and Lily. Visitation will be held Thursday June 18th from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin, 11801 San Jose Boulevard Jacksonville, FL 32223. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Friday at 10:00am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church 11730 Old St. Augustine Road 32257. Donations are being accepted in memory of Bob at Divine Mercy House at 4118 Loretto Road, Jacksonville, Fl. 32223.
