Robert Carl Jones, Sr also known as Bob and R.C., 83, died peacefully at Community Hospice at Mayo Clinic on June 26th, 2019. Bob served in the United States Marine Corp from 1954 to 1957. He ran his family’s business for nearly 50 years, R.C. Jones Furniture. He was known in the community for his loving, generous and kind spirit. Bob loved his children and his wife deeply.
Bob was predeceased by his parents, Elizabeth “Petite” Jones, 1982; his father, Ravenal Carl Jones, 1994; and his son, Robert Carl Jones Jr., 2015. He is survived by the love of his life, Dean Carroll Jones; his children, Michelle Jones Hartmann (Robin Keller), Rodney Carl Jones (Maggie O’Neil), Candice Page Ster (Donald); and all of his grandchildren, Robert Jones, Christopher Hartmann, Hunter Jones, Sophia Ster, Donovan Ster and Elizabeth Ster.
A celebration of his life will be held at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Legacy Lodge, 4801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32207 on Saturday June 29th at 11:00am with a reception immediately following.
