       I was in Newton Falls for the past few days, Bob's home town. I passed by where he lived knowing this anniversary was coming. 
       I smiled, knowing the guy, what he meant to me, and the good times we shared in that town. He is smiling to seeing me back where we met, grew up, and became lifelong friends. Say hello to the guys that are with you Bob. I hope the Gators have a good year!

I had the pleasure of working with Bob and Barbara in my 20's and was lucky to be a part of his company, Freeland Real Estate Services. Bob was so genuine and special. He had the biggest heart of anyone I have ever met and was incredibly generous. We were a true family when we worked together at Freeland Real Estate and I treasure those memories and good times. Bob was the best boss I ever had but he was much more than a boss. Although we hadn't seen each other in a few years, Bob always had a special place in my heart and I was heartbroken to hear of his passing. Sending all my love to Barbara, Brian, Beth and Aaron. 

Dear Barbara,  I am so sorry to hear that Bob had passed.  I just couldn't believe it.  He was the most thoughtful, caring, generous, supportive, happy, optimistic person I knew.  We were all one big team and Bob was our ring leader, when we worked together at Freeland Real Estate.  I will cherish those memories and the friendships made during those days.  Even after we went separate ways, you both would keep in touch from time to time, and give updates on our co-workers.  Just wish we would have put together that "Freeland Real Estate Reunion" we always talked about.  Bob, I will always love you and miss you and thank you for everything you have done for me over the years.  My prayers to you Barbara.  You two were always together...my heart breaks for you. Wow I don’t know where to begin… Bob was the best!!  I left my family’s business  in real estate to join Freeland and my brother Chad joined me in the move.  Bob was a great mentor,  fair , honest and loyal to everyone he came in contact with.  He shared deals, he passed on deals and he included you in deals.  He was always thinking  about the people that worked with him.   No matter what you needed Bob along with Barbara  was always there to help.  A lot of fun times and memories were  had with Bob.  He always stayed in touch checking up wit you.  Bob I will miss you and will always love you. ❤️  BARBARA and family I am sending hugs and strength to all of you.

Bob Freeland was a great influence on my career and life!  He got me started in the right direction and introduced me to all the top brokers in our market.  Extremely generous man that always told it like it was, and his word was his bond.  I still hunt with the deer rifle he bought me 30 years ago, and it will be passed down to my sons one day. Bob was a true gentleman in every way. You could rely on Bob's word and a handshake. Always helpful and a keen wit that never failed to bring a good laugh. You will be missed my friend.

I first met Bob performing tenant buildouts in his buildings, he knew how to get the job done and at the best economies.  I grew to know Bob better when he roped me into volunteering to serve on our neighborhood board (one of the best moves I have ever made).
We later enjoyed participating in the neighbor Investment Club with our wives.  Bob was a savvy stock picker and everyone paid attention to his reports, and Barbara was the forever secretary keeping track of all the conversations / shenanigans and Bob!  We routinely would meet Bob and Barbara out with neighbors at Vino's  and other San Marco area restaurants where we were always greeted with a grand "Hello Neighbors".  Viki and I certainly miss those years.  Our prayers go out to Barbara and family.

My wonderful friendship with Bob spanned over 47 years.   Bob was an incredible friend and a true prince of a person.   He was one of the most sincere and loving friends you could ever hope to have in your life.  He had such a great sense of humor and a infectious smile.  His legacy will live through the love of his family and the many loyal friendships he made.  I will forever cherish the times we shared.   Rest in peace my friend... you will be dearly missed. I met Bob 20 years ago working for Ducks Unlimited, Bob was a volunteer. Bob filled the definition of a true volunteer. He loved duck hunting and the cause that was Ducks Unlimited. We became friends outside DU, we hunted together a few times and enjoyed being outdoors. I’m very sorry to say we lost touch these last few years, I’ve thought of Bob often. He will truly be missed. The nation’s wildlife are enjoying the fruits of Bob’s commitment to preservation.

Oh my goodness Barb, I just found out.   What a gift to have known Bob Freeland! He was such an incredible gentlemen,  leader of our team, incredible husband, father and friend to all of us~  I have so much respect for him and you.    He brought such an incredible smile and love to us all.   I remember back in the day -  you could smoke in our office ~  I went to Bob and asked him to make people go outside ~ he did.... I'm like what ~~  What??   BUT that was Bob... he was always figuring out how to  make things better.   He was so smart.  I would sit in his office and run my deals by him...he would sit there and not say anything for a while ~ and THEN say ~  Sandy - You got this ~ GO DO IT!!    I loved him then and I love you both now!!   I honor him;  his Leadership,  his Advice, his Friendship and his Love throughout all these years.      He is one of kind~  Love you so much

I sure thought Bob was a great 'kid'.   I got to know him when he moved to Newton Falls.  We were in some of the same classes and played football together for one year.  If my memory hasn't failed me we worked on the same crew at the Ravenna Arsenal in the summer of 1965. 
Bob was so very friendly.  He fit in to our little town and immediately seemed like he had lived there his whole life.

I want to share my deepest condolences to Barbara and family. Bob was a great friend and always was there to lend a helping hand. When I think of him I can still see that big smile on his face. He left us all with some wonderful memories. Bob was as good as it gets. Rest in peace my old friend.


Bob was my first mentor in business.  He had a huge heart and was the most generous man I have ever met.  In the early 90’s the Country was in a recession and commercial real estate was a tough field for a twenty something year old;  Bob took a group of us under his wing and always made sure we had a roof over our heads  and our bellies were full with “company meetings” at the local happy hours.  He’d close a big deal and it became the office’s commission.  One day Bob decided we all needed to become owners of his company, so he gave us a company credit card and paid for us to get our Broker’s licenses.  After I left the State for several years, I always got a call from Bob to see how I was doing.  We remained good friends throughout the years.  Bob taught me what integrity looked like in a real estate transaction, how to be fair and equitable, and most importantly honest.  He was a straight shooter and a true friend.   My condolences to you Barbara and the entire Freeland family.

I first met Bob when I was in High School as my neighbor in Empire Point and later had the privilege of working on several real estate transactions together.  Bob was old school and very good at his craft. He was a good man - honest, direct and you always knew where things stood when working together. He will be missed.

Bob was such a sweet and kind man. I was lucky enough to meet Bob at my first job. He decided to start a new company and saw something in me and I joined him in his new adventure. He gave me confidence in myself in the business world and taught me so much.  I was proud to work for him and with him.  Life moved on and we went separate ways but I was lucky enough to run into Bob at last years Ducks Unlimited dinner and was able to catch up. Bob had not changed a bit. He was still so sharp remembering me and our work times together and catching up on some of our mutual acquaintances. He still spoke so highly of Barbara and you could  feel the love in his voice. That short talk meant so much to me, especially now.  Barbara I am so sorry for your loss. 

What a great friend,we were like brothers.We met when we were 4 years old,talked every week.I thought it,he said it.I was fortunate to spend some time with he and Barbara befored he passed.We had some very candid momemnts which I will always cherish.His passing has left a big hole in my heart.With his help, I became an adopted GATOR.

Bob was always open and honest in his assessment of a transaction or a relationship.  He and Barbara were together in almost every setting that one of them was invited.  He always asked about family and how others were doing.  Kind man who will be missed.

I had the privilege of knowing Bob as a business partner first and then as a true friend. Bob was a very kind and sharing individual, always available to his friends in their time of need. I would say we grew up together but then we know Bob never grew up - always a great smile, had a recall for memories better than anyone I have known and what a great laugh. Bob and I attended high school together in Ohio in the 60s and I have many happy memories of those years. But my favorite memory of Bob happened 30 years later when he and Barbara came to Dallas for a real estate conference and they spent their evenings visiting with me. One night we went on a dinner cruise that had  typical Texas dinner and music. The last song played was Glory, Glory Hallelujah. Bob was immediately on his feet with his hand over his heart. A true Southern patriot. A good man. A loyal friend. Missed, but now at peace.

For the past almost two years, I have been going through a challenging time. Every Monday morning Bob would call to lend support.

We have been friends since our school days; however, these caring and supporting calls were a wonderful gift given to provide help. I came to know what a true friend and brother Bob was to me. May he rest knowing how I miss him.
