Robert Dennis Bentley, 68, of Orange Park, Passed away on Friday, May 30, 2014. He was born in Lenoir, N.C. to the late Carl and Mary Bentley. In 1992, Robert moved from Virginia to Orange Park. He retired from the US Navy after 30 years of service as a Command Master Chief and was a member of The National Weather Service Association. AGCM Bentley earned the Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Unit commendation Ribbon. Air Force Unit Commendation Ribbon, Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon, Battle “E” with two “E”s, Good conduct Medal with 4 bronze stars, Navy Expeditionary Medal with 1 bronze star, National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Vietnam Meritorious Unit Citation, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. Robert is survived by his wife, Judy L. Bentley; son, Joshua Daniel Bentley; daughters, Jennifer Bentley Herrera and Keri Elizabeth Gaber; nephew, Charles Michael Lowdermilk, and grandchildren, Sarah Ashley Herrera, Chloe Ann Gaber and Cameryn Elisabeth Herrera. A Memorial Service will be held 10:30 am Friday, June 13, 2014 at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin. Inurnment will be at 2:30 pm at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville.
