Richard B. Holton, 80, longtime resident of Jacksonville, passed away January 5, 2013. He was born in Baxley, GA, son of A.J. and Susie L. (James) Holton. He attended Lee High School and later joined the US Air Force and served four years active duty and joined the reserves for an additional two years.
He was the central figure in his neighborhood. Many neighbors looked to him for help and support with numerous projects.
Surviving are two children, Nancy (Gordon) Gipson, Gary Holton, two grandchildren, Curtis Holton and Casey Colahan and many dear friends.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 10:30 am at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Raod, Jacksonville 32218.
