He brought sunshine into any room that he entered. He was a special person who really let everone know how much he loved you and the children. So sorry to hear of Richard's passing. I didn't know him well but I remember some very good conversations with him at Allstate in Jacksonville. My prayers are with his family and friends during this difficult time.

My favorite memories: Numerous times, in the early 1990s, we'd be in meetings together, and management would say to us that "..this is the best way ...", when, in fact, it wasn't. They were wrong. I wanted to say they were, but I was too intimidated, too afraid. Richard never was. Whether it was our local MCO Manager,  Regional Staff, or VPs from Home Office, it didn't matter. Standing alone, he'd point out the better way. He was never intimidated by a job title. He cared more about looking out for his Unit, or for our insureds...about doing "the right thing", even at his own risk. I witnessed Richard stand up to them all, on behalf of those who couldn't(or wouldn't). I admired his courage, his bravery...he was always my hero, "Richard The Lionhearted", in my mind.

I was really sad to hear of Richard's passing.  He was a funny guy, and a good man.  Prayers go out to your family.  He will always be remembered in our hearts

I will never forget Richard. He would always look so serious but give you the biggest laugh once he said something. His positiveness look on the brightside always made speaking with him a pleasure.

Knowing and working with Richard for so many years was a privilege.  At different times we worked for one another, and whether he was my manager or employee he always brought energy and sincerity to his role.  He was quick with a joke or a story and loved to make those around him laugh.  
I am glad that he was able to retire early and spend years with his family and follow his other interests.  I will always remember him.

Nancy, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I worked with Richard for 5 years in the Jax Allstate office. I transfered to St. Pete. I loved Richard's sense of  humor and he always had good, common sense advise for me. We had a special bond. I will miss him.

Richard was a dear friend and GREAT to work with. He kept us all smiling while handling a tough job. He adored Nancy and the kids and spoke of them often. He will be missed, but never forgotten by those that were privileged to work with him.

I am very sorry to hear the news about Richard. He was a great friend of mine and although I had not seen him in some time, I often thought about him. I remember sharing times with him way back when Jacksonville hosted live boxing events downtown - always a great time. He always made me smile and I will miss him greatly.

Nancy, Richard was a terrific man. Not only did he have a huge influence on my professional career in MANY ways, he was a father figure to me in private life. I will miss him dearly.
