Reina O. Martin, age 69, died on November 22, 2015 at the Baptist Medical Center South in Jacksonville, FL after a brief illness. Reina was born in Panama City, Panama and immigrated to the United States when she was 7 years old where she resided with family members in Akron, Ohio. She later lived in Miami where she graduated from Miami Edison High School. After her marriage to Gary Martin in 1966, she moved to Jacksonville, FL to be with her husband. While living in Jacksonville, she received an Associated of Arts degree from Florida Junior College and was employed by Barnett Bank (now Bank of America) where she retired in 2009 as an Assistant Vice President after nearly 40 years of service. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and through that organization was involved in numerous charitable activities over the years. She was also a member of the San Juan del Rio Catholic Church. Reina is survived by her husband of 49 years, Gary, a daughter, Gina Littlepage of St Augustine, FL, two grandchildren, three sisters and three brothers. She is preceded in death by her mother, Mercedes Almanza and father, Carlos A. Carles and a brother, Miguel Carles. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 4 in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 5 in San Juan del Rio Catholic Church, 1718 FL-13, St. Johns, FL with visitation one hour prior to service.
