Redding J. Bennett, 76 of Jacksonville passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2012. He is preceded by his parents Odessa and Edward Bennett of Adel, Georgia. Redding is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 56 years Marylena Bennett, a son, Johnny Bennett and daughter, Debra Daniels (James), brother; Thomas Bennett (Mary), and sister; Pauline Odom, seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Mr. Bennett enjoyed the great outdoors, fishing, and spoiling the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He retired from truck driving. Redding will be remembered for his kind heart, warm smile, and determining spirit. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Community Hospice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, located at 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 5, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 pm in the chapel. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at Riverside Memorial Park.
