She was born in Norfolk, VA and has resided in Jacksonville for over 40 years. She attended Robert E. Lee High School
and went on to enjoy a 20 year career as a foreman for Seaonus Stevedoring. Her greatest joy in life was being a mother,
nana, wife, sister, aunt, and friend. She had an abundantly generous spirit and took great pride in caring for her family.
She had an incredible passion for music, spending time outdoors, especially at the beach, and most of all gathering together with her family.
She leaves behind her husband, Chuck Kicklighter, daughters Jacqueline Ruth and Kayla Kicklighter, grandsons Dominic, Logan, Heath, and a future grandson due this summer. Also grieving her loss are her sisters Dianne Lasage, Rosemary (Rick) Lane, her brother John Ruth, her sister-in-laws Cindy (Drew) Simpson, Tonya (Henry) Padilla, and her mother-in-law Joann Kicklighter. She also had a special relationship with her nieces and nephews, Cassandra, Nathan, Curtis, Eddie, Colton, Trey, Jacob, Tiffany, Kelly, Derek, and numerous great nephews and nieces and many very wonderful friends.
The family will receive friends and loved ones at Hardage and Giddens Town and Country funeral home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville FL 32205 on Thursday, April 7, 2016 from 5-7pm. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Eddie Lane and held at the same location on Friday, April 8, 2016 at 11am, followed by a burial service at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville FL 32205. The family invites you to join them for a celebration of Rebecca’s life following funeral services at Fouraker Baptist Church 1754 Fouraker Road, Jacksonville, FL 32221.
