Rebecca “Renee” Brown, 53, was unexpectedly called home to be with our Lord and Savior on October 7, 2016 in Jacksonville Florida. Renee was born on January 25, 1963 in Cocoa, Florida to Hursel C. Brown, Sr. and Daisy Taylor Brown. She loved her life and was a woman of many talents, making a successful small home business out of her lifelong hobby of crochet. Her other hobbies included designing and making jewelry, gardening, reading, music and fishing. Her smile and laugh (accompanied by her quick wit and natural sense of humor) will be immensely missed by her family and friends. Renee loved animals of all kinds and was always sought by friends and neighbors to rescue and nurture any type of stray, injured or abandoned critter. She made biscuits almost as good as her Granny Taylor and was a great cook. She loved summertime and thunderstorms. She was the official weather person where ever she was at the time. All of her family and friends knew that you could ask Renee what the weather was going to be like in an hour or 10 days from then and she could tell you.
She moved from Cocoa to Jacksonville with her family as a child. She was the first person you saw when you walked into the family business, Certified Collision Repair Center, Inc., where she was employed and she will be greatly missed and her absence is already felt by everyone who enters the shop. She loved her job (after 9:30am) and she lived for those 3 day weekends. She loved her family especially her Mom who she had lunch with almost every day.
Renee was predeceased by her Dad, Hursel C. Brown, Sr. and her older brother Clay who was her fishing buddy. She is survived by her loving Mom, Daisy Brown, her younger brother, Tim (Debbie), her niece Brittney Lee (Roger), her nephew T.J. (Brittany Faith), numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, close friends and her dogs, Waylon and Jessi.
Arrangements under the direction of Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, Jacksonville, FL.
