Raymond Alton McCall, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home May 27, 2014 at the age of 81. Ray was born in Jacksonville, Florida to Lonnie and Grace McCall. He graduated in 1950 from The Bolles School in Jacksonville, and attended the Citadel in South Carolina. While Ray was in the United States Air Force stationed in Munich, Germany, he met and married, Patricia Higgins. The couple enjoyed 62 years of marriage, until her death one year ago. Ray had a successful career in the commercial painting industry and was instrumental in the continued success
of Florida Paint Company. He had a positive impact on the commercial construction industry in Northeast Florida. Ray is survived by his three children, Kimberly McCall Kessler, Susan McCall Thorpe (Kim D. ) and Steven Trump McCall; four grandchildren: Leigh Alexandra Castelvecchi, Katherine Elizabeth Wagner, Alexandra McCall Murray ( Chris ) and Carlie Alyssa McCall; great-grandchild, Margaret Grace Murray; a brother, Laurence G. McCall and sister, Carolyn Kraft. Ray was a true gentleman, and he will forever be remembered for his integrity, benevolence, and selflessness. A memorial service will be held Tuesday June 3rd, eleven o’clock in the morning at San Jose Episcopal Church, 7423 San Jose Blvd; Rev. Stephen Britt officiating.
