He was born in Swainsboro Ga. on February 22, 1932 to James and Cleo Jeffers and was one of twelve
children including Virginia, J.V, Mickey, Drexel, Dallas, Frank, Wendell, Violet, Buddy, Bennie, and his
twin sister Betty.
Ray was married to Patricia Lashley on December 5, 1959. He worked very hard as a Machinist for the
Jacksonville Shipyards. He retired with over 30 years of service. Ray was a member of the Free Masons
Barnette Lodge #187. He was very passionate about fishing, spending quality time with his loved ones,
watching his favorite TV show Ancient Aliens, and learning the history of the world.
Ray is survived by his brother Buddy (Judy), and his children Sabrina (Russ), and Darren (Pam). He is now watching over his grandchildren Shane (Elizabeth), Katrina (Micah), and Makayla (Calvin) and his great
grandchildren Riley, Charlotte, and Christian. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Peepaw
will forever be missed and loved by all who knew him.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2021 from 10:00am-12:00pm at Hardage-Giddens Greenlawn Funeral Home, 4300 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32207. Graveside services to follow beginning at 12:00pm at Greenlawn Cemetery.
