Randy was born in Greenville, North Carolina on March 15th, 1955, to Gerald and Mary Grey Forrest. He was the eldest of four children. He attended East Carolina University where he met his wife, Wanda Oldham. They married on December 15th, 1979. They moved to Jacksonville and settled in Mandarin, where they raised their family.
Randy is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 45 years, Wanda Forrest, and their children, Ryan Forrest (Tina) and Emily Akimenko (Vadim) of Jacksonville, FL, his father, Gerald Forrest, Greenville, NC and his brother, Clifton Forrest (Lisa) Cincinnati, OH. Randy was a beloved “Papa” to his two grandsons: Alexander “Alex” Akimenko and Mikhail Akimenko. He was preceded in death by his mother, brother Gary Forrest, and sister Angie Colgrove.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 5th from 4 to 6 p.m. at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Chapel & Cemetery, 4801 San Jose Boulevard Jacksonville, FL 32207.
