Ramona Annette Hewiett

Annette Hewiett, age 84, went home to be with the Lord and her loving husband, James "Jake" Hewiett, on February 17th, 2024. She passed away peacefully surrounded by family.

She was born in O'Brien, Florida, January 5th, 1940 to John and Thelma Holmes. She grew up in Live Oak, Florida. She graduated from Suwannee High School in 1958 and later moved to Jacksonville, Florida. She worked for JEA for a number of years, and was a wonderful mother and homemaker, caring for her 3 children. She was a faithful member at Jones Road Baptist Church. Annette enjoyed gardening, fishing, reading, and spending time with her family. She loved to cook and was the best around! She loved her family dearly.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, James Hewiett; parents, John Holmes and Thelma Allen; step-father, Joe Allen; step mother, Helene Holmes; and sister Brenda Vurnakes.

Annette leaves behind her three children that she loved dearly; Keith (Cindy), Craig, and Lisa. Four grandchildren; Joshua Hewiett (Becca), Melissa Conrad (Paul), Dustin Hewiett (Taylor), and Ashli Pace (Justin). Six great-grandchildren; Nolan, Marshall, Clark, Rhett, Lucy, and Ivy. Siblings; Joel Allen (Michaele), Ronnie Allen (Jeanie), Rhonda Rumsey (Donald), and Mark Holmes (Pam).

A visitation for Ramona will be held Monday, February 26, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Jones Road Baptist Church, 2506 Jones Road, Jacksonville, FL 32220. A funeral service will occur Monday, February 26, 2024 at 11:00 AM, 2506 Jones Road, Jacksonville, FL 32220. A committal service will follow the funeral service, Monday, February 26, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205.
