Ralph Eugene Walls Jr.

Ralph Eugene Walls, Jr., known to many as "Gene", passed away August 3, 2016 at the age of 44. Gene was born June 27, 1972 to Ralph, SR. and Mildred ("Becky") Walls. Ralph, SR. passed away September 5, 2005 and Gene most recently was preceded in death by his mother, Becky, on November 24, 2015. Gene is also preceded in death by his grandparents, Walter E. and Dorothy H. Walls and David C. and Mildred Duren. He was a simple man. Gene was raised on the Westside of Jacksonville, and attended Stone Wall Jackson Elementary, Jeb Stuart Middle School, and Nathan Bedford Forrest High School. He loved various types of music, mainly classic rock and yes even some heavy metal music. He liked to watch football and NASCAR and also liked shows such as Deadliest Catch, Duck Dynasty, Ancient Aliens, American Pickers and history channel shows; he also loved the movie Ted. Gene worked in the past as a very skilled and efficient tow truck driver and also was very skilled at fixing many things like his father. Gene is survived by his only sister, Rebecca Haim and her spouse Travis; two nephews, who Gene absolutely loved and adored, Logan Ralph and Preston Bernard Haim; loving and faithful girlfriend, Rebecca "Becky" Cobb Schadowsky; aunts Patricia Ann Young, Andrea Sowell (Richard), Trudi McCall, Susie Collier (Brooks), and Kathy Duren; uncle Ricky Duren (Barbara); and many cousins. Also surviving Gene are Crystal Billings and Stacey Marcum (James), who he loved dearly as his own daughters. Most of all, he loved the fact he had the chance to be a grandpa to Carli Jo and Owen Thomas Marcum, who he just adored. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 13, 2016 at eleven o' clock in the morning at Town and Country Funeral Home. Gene will be placed to rest at Riverside Memorial Park along with his parents at a private service. In lieu of flowers the family request to please make donations to a charity of choice.
