Polly May

Polly was born in Des Moines, Iowa, May 17,1928 to the late, Grover Clarence Riggs and Minnie Lee Gregory. Polly was a faithful member of Englewood Christian Church where she participated in many of the ladies’ groups and church activities.

Polly was preceded in death by her loving soulmate, Herman May; brother, Cecil Riggs; two sisters, Nellie Mayfield and Neta Johnson.

Survivors include her two sons; Michael James May and wife Lynne, and Mark Edward May and wife Ginger; 4 Grandchildren, Michelle "Shelley" Edens and husband Rich, Mary Anna Peterson and husband Charles, Justin May and wife Jennifer, and Derrick May and wife Mandy; Great grandchildren; Sydney Edens, Gracie Gutierrez, Linnie Edens, Alex Peterson, Ryan Peterson, Ethan Peterson, Trenten May, Kaeli May, Talan May, Everly May, Braeden Helland and Colesen Williams.

In addition to our immediate family, Polly dearly loved her caregiver, Ms. Maggie Edmondson, and neighbor, Penny Trawick.

Polly loved her church and had a deep faith that carried her to the end.

The Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at 2pm at Englewood Christian Church, 4316 Barnes Rd S, Jacksonville, FL 32207
