

Pepito “Pete” Cabacungan, age 63, of Jacksonville, FL., passed away on Friday, October 21, 2022, at Baptist Medical Center South. He was an avid golfer, wonderful cook and devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Pete graduated from Trinity College of Quezon City/St. Luke’s College of Nursing in 1980 and was a Registered Nurse for 42 years with a specialty in OR nursing. He most recently worked at Baptist Medical Center South for 13 years. He was due to retire in January 2023.
Outside of his professional career, he was a member of the Philippine Golf Association of Jacksonville. He won multiple Player of the Year awards and briefly served as President during his time with the organization. He was known as a thoughtful man who loved to write but chose to show his affection through his cooking. Pete could most often be found working on his yard or in the garden where he grew his beloved peppers. He even developed his own hot sauce using peppers from his garden.
He is survived by his wife, Beth, his son, Jason, and his two grandchildren, Caiya and Jayla. His sister Patsy Puyot and two brothers Ben and Salvador. He was preceded by his parents, Gaudencio and Agnes Cabacungan.
A mass of christian burial will occur on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 9:30 AM at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 960 Girvin Road, Jacksonville, FL 32225. A committal service will follow Mass on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at Chapel Hills Memory Gardens, 850 St Johns Bluff Road North, Jacksonville, FL 32225.
