Pauline Kirk Davis, 98, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2018 at her long-time home in Jacksonville, Florida. Pauline was an elegant and artistic woman and was loved for her kind and giving spirit. She collected and loved beautiful things and excelled at floral design, oil painting and creation of Faberge-like table top decorations. Pauline was a Florida State Flower Show judge and was also selected to judge Christmas decorations and displays at The White House. She loved the American West and spent many seasons hunting and riding horseback at family ranches in Wyoming and Colorado. Her unique taste, talent and personal style were undeniable.
Pauline is pre-deceased by her husband Artemis Darius Davis (A.D.), her son Benjamin B. McCormick III (Cynthia), her daughter, Barbara McCormick Tinney and one brother, Brenton L. Kirk (Virginia). Surviving relatives include a son, Lee Richard McCormick (Mee), and grandchildren Lisa Shad Mantock (Jim), Ernest F. Shad (Susie), Benjamin M. Shad (Kim), Kathleen Dubberly (Michael), Christine Shields (John), Jenepher McCormick, Alexis Kirby (Chris), Ana McCormick (Alec Rowe), Isabella McCormick, Lola McCormick and 9 Great-Grandchildren. The family would also like to recognize and thank Pauline’s long-time caregivers and friends, Wanda Griffin, Diane Anderson, Lois Lewis and Nella Hubbersty.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 3rd from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Chapel, 4801 San Jose Blvd. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, August 4th at 11:00 a.m. at Southside United Methodist Church with Pastor Bruce Jones officiating.
