Paul Everett Knight

Paul Everett Knight born August 20, 1971, went to his heavenly home December 9, 2020. Paul was a gentle spirit with a kind heart. He loved his family and friends. He was intelligent, and an avid reader. He enjoyed playing pool and fishing with friends. He watched Jeopardy every evening and would see how many answers he knew, often many! Paul was a talented and meticulous craftsman. If he didn’t know how to repair something he would research and teach himself how. He loved to debate interesting topics and philosophy. Paul was endlessly thoughtful and deep. His favorite past time was sitting around with family and friends drinking beer and talking, laughing, and joking around. He always had a way with animals and children.

Paul was born and raised in Georgia. He graduated from Statesboro High School and has resided in Jacksonville for the past few years. His strong hugs and warm smile will be sorely missed.

Paul is survived by his Mother Nettie (James) Carr, and Father Wayne (Debbie) Knight, Brothers Jerry Knight and his family Tambrei, Benjamin, Harley, and Justin; Joshua Marcum; and John Sharpe and family Jenna and Veronica. Sisters Pamela Mattsson and her family Lars, Alexander, Adrian, Annalis, and Amelia; Patty Gardell and her family Billy and William; Caitlyn Knight; Heather Broussard and family Valiant and Valiant Jr; Kimberly Carr Smothers and TJ. Grandmother Sue Knight and many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and friends.

Though of modest means, Paul was incredibly generous and would often help those in need. In lieu of flowers, please do what Paul would do and pay it forward with a kindness. Pay a light bill, pay for someone’s meal, buy a coffee, pick up the tab, volunteer, or provide a service. In these challenging times, Paul would want us to be safe. We are doing a small celebration of Paul with immediate family only. We will do a celebration of life with extended family and friends at the Haynes family annual Peanut Boil.
