We would like to celebrate the life, and recognize the passing of Patrick J. Hopkins III, who died at the age of 71 on July 15, 2023. “Pat”, as he was affectionately known, was born on March 27, 1952 and raised as a Catholic Christian in Brooklyn, NY.
Pat attended college at Jacksonville University in Florida, where he achieved his Bachelor’s Degree, served as the head of his fraternity, and devoted his time and talent to the university’s golf team, where he forged lifelong friendships and pursued his dreams. Golf would remain Pat’s ultimate passion, however he developed a knack for business, and pursued a career with IBM that would ultimately propel him into the next phase of his life. Pat met and married Cyd Williams, and had two children, Patrick James Hopkins IV and Victor John Hopkins. Pat redefined his career late in his life, climbing the ranks and influencing change in a new role as Funeral Director at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Homes. Throughout his life, Pat maintained a tenacity towards his work, a love for his family, and a deep-rooted passion for the game of golf.
As we mourn the passing of Patrick, we recognize those close family members who live on, representing his memory; Pat’s sister, Maureen Statinsky, his children Patrick (Alyssa) Hopkins IV and Victor (Hannah) Hopkins, and his grandchildren Patrick James Hopkins V and Harper Hopkins.
A visitation for Patrick will be held Sunday, July 23, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Legacy Lodge, 4801 SAN JOSE BLVD, JACKSONVILLE, FL 32207.
EJ McKnight will speak on behalf of friends and family, followed by a gathering and Celebration of Life. We hope you are able to attend, say farewell, and pay your respects to our beloved father, and friend, “Hop” - “10”.
