Mr. Otis Shirley Hudson, 84, of Jacksonville, FL departed this life on March 12, 2022 after a lengthy illness. Mr. Hudson was born in Montezuma, GA on April 13, 1937 and had made his home in Jacksonville, FL for several decades.
Mr. Hudson was preceded in death by his wife, Annette Hudson and his daughter, Shirley Hudson. He is survived by his sons, Mark Hudson and Darryl Hudson, both of Jacksonville, FL; grandson, Hunter Hudson of Gainesville, FL; granddaughter, Brandi Hudson of Jacksonville, FL and his companion of 24 years, Ann Boulos, whom he dearly loved; and goddaughter, Teresa Andrews. He also leaves behind his brother, Bobby Hudson (Joanne) of Oglethorpe, GA; sisters Deloris (Bobby) Lawhorn of Ellaville, GA and Diane Hudson of Perry, GA; several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
Mr. Hudson served in the United States Army and the National Guard in Florida before beginning his career as a Carpenter, where he remained until retiring through Carpenters Local 702 in Jacksonville, FL. He was an active member of Arlington Lions Club for the past 31 years, where he also called Bingo games as well as at Southside Women’s Club. He enjoyed golf, bingo and telling stories of his life adventures.
The Funeral Service will be held at 12 Noon on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 with visitation one hour prior to service inside the Chapel of Hardage-Giddens Greenlawn Funeral Home, 4300 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL with Rev. Damon Alston, as Officiant, followed by interment in Greenlawn Cemetery. After the committal service, the family requests your presence for fellowship and lunch at 2 pm at the Arlington Lions Club, 6523 Commerce Street, Jacksonville, FL 32211.
