Orville Richard Smith, 77, passed October 13, 2011. He was born November 8, 1933 to the late Orville and Lena Smith in Indianapolis, Indiana. Orville was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He is survived by his son Orville R. Smith, Jr. (Joan), daughters Brenda Hanson and Kimberly Kirton (Kyle), sister Carolyn Nitschke (Duane), grandchildren Orville “D.J.” Smith III, Candis Smith, Michael Smith, Brittany Smith, Katie Hanson, and Roddy Hanson, Kaileigh Kirton, Korbin Kirton, and Kelsea Kirton, and great-granddaughter Sloane Smith. He is predeceased by his wife Thelma Smith and son Frank Michael Smith.
A visitation will be held from 6-8pm, Sunday October 16, 2011 at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home, 850 St. Johns Bluff Rd. N., Jacksonville. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30am, Monday, October 17, 2011 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 435 1st Ave N. Jacksonville Beach. Interment will follow in Chapel Hills Memory Gardens.
