Noel was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on December 23, 1950. He grew up in Sussex, WI and graduated from Hamilton High School in 1969. In 1970, he was drafted into the US Army and fought in The Vietnam war from 1970-1971 where he was awarded a National Defense Medal, a Bronze Star, and a Purple Heart. After being discharged from the Army, he attended Waukesha Technical College from 1972-1974 earning an associate's degree. In January of 1975, Noel met Katalin Marie Sczesy at a ski club and they were married by the end of that year on December 6th. His experience as a foundry engineer relocated him and his family to Granger, Indiana in 1987. He retired from Dalton Foundries in December of 2016. Noel loved working with his hands and was gifted in woodworking. His hobbies included playing the guitar, riding his motorcycle, singing, watching Nascar, old westerns and old war movies. He loved spending time with his family and had a goofy sense of humor. Noel had a passion for the Gospel of Jesus Christ and loved to study the Bible.
Noel was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph Leonard Rahn And Florence Ethel Rahn. He is survived by his loving wife, Kathy; daughters, Rebecca (Keifus) Malone and Lisa (Tim) Semelbauer; grandchildren, Mikayla David, Keenan David, Jenna Semelbauer, Logan Semelbauer, and Keturah Malone; and a sister, Natalie (Jerry) Hesse.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at Hardage-Giddens, 11801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL. 32223 at 11:00 a.m. with public viewing/visitation at 10:30 a.m. followed by refreshments and appetizers. We will then be escorted the Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd. Jacksonville, FL 32218, where Noel's committal service will be held at 2:30 p.m.
