Joanne was a dedicated employee at First Coast News from which she retired. She also volunteered at the United Methodist Church.
Joey was a devoted wife and a very caring and loving mom. Her grandchildren loved their “Joey”.
We are terribly sad for those of you who never had the pleasure of meeting our beautiful mom “Joey”. And trying to describe her to you here with limited words is all but impossible. You had to see her and hear her to really appreciate the unique person that she was. She was a petite little woman but with a giant heart. She gave without ever asking anything in return. Her smile and laughter were contagious and often at herself. That’s what made her so endearing to everyone. She stayed ready to embrace each new day, even though it took her hours to accessorize just right before she could go. But, it was all worth it when you saw her coming. She screamed sunshine from head to toe.
Even while wearing her favorite white outfit and had so many; Joey was always the most colorful person to enter any room. She turned heads and touched hearts. Boy, she loved life and life loved her. Every day with Joey was an adventure and there was always a great memory just waiting to be made. She brought joy to all that knew and loved her, and there are too many of us to count. She will be missed like the sunshine itself.
Cheers to you our beloved Joey. Thanks for the memories!
