Nancy Carolyn Taylor

Nancy was born on August 29, 1935, in Jacksonville, Florida to Thelma Wilcox and Zernie Leake. She graduated from Landon High School in Jacksonville, Florida, married Ronald Taylor on November 4, 1955. She moved to Putnam County Florida in 1965 where she raised her children and worked for the local paper mill as an inventory clerk for 30 years until retiring and returning to Jacksonville where she remained until the passing of her husband of nearly 67 years in 2022. For the final two years of her life, she lived with her son and daughter-in-law in Bunnell Florida until her passing.

The founding scripture for Nancy’s actions in this world “Whatever you do for the least of these, you do unto me” was woven through her life and she wove it through ours.

She touched and forever imprinted this world with the Love of God living in and through her. Nancy’s life was a life well-lived for the Lord, her family, friends, and for others. Full of joy and generosity, she was selfless in the giving of her time, resources, and words of wisdom. She opened her home and heart to share God’s love to all who crossed her path. Gods law of unconditional love was written on her heart and encompassed in every breath. A powerful prayer warrior and a servant of Jesus she was ever thankful for Abba’s love for her. We will miss her light in this world.

Nancy is survived her four children, Rebecca Taylor (CL Kelii), Christopher Taylor (Carol Taylor), Andrew Taylor (Lisa Taylor), and Daniel Taylor (Rochelle Taylor), six grandchildren, Jason Wilson (Natalia Gonzales-Wilson), Amy Wilson, Benjamin Taylor-Hunt (Conrad Hunt), Katherine Taylor, Shawn Taylor (Sammy Taylor), and Sonni Taylor, nine great-grandchildren, J. Josiah Wilson, Jadon Anderson, Joseph Anderson, Julius Daley, Adalyn Anderson, Kyla Taylor, Alexia Taylor and Layla Taylor, Shawn Taylor Jr, one great-great grandchild, Amina Wilson, Her brother Darrell Leake and her sister Wanda Smith (John Smith). She also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends, too numerous to count. She is predeceased by her husband Ronald Taylor.

A visitation will be held at Hardage Giddens Greenlawn Funeral Home, 4300 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32207 on Saturday, December 14, 2024 from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm. A memorial service will follow beginning at 2:00 pm.
