Nancy H. Spires

Nancy H. Spires passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of James B. and Celia Horning. Nancy was born in Lewistown, Pa. and moved to Jacksonville with her family at the age of nine. She attended local schools and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School. She went to work for Blue Cross before marrying her high school sweetheart, William J. Spires. They had three beautiful daughters, Victoria, Cathryn and Kimberly.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 60 years, her handsome brother Jim and baby sister and brother Leif and Yvonne, also her precious grandson Christopher Johnston.

Survivors include daughters Victoria McReynolds (Kevin), Cathryn Burke (Jeff), Kimberly (Margaret); five grandchildren, Jessica Cardona, Rachel and Lydia Burke, Jody Johnston and Tracey Brown also 6 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Nancy will be missed by many dear friends, especially her loving family.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at St. Johns Presbyterian Church, 4275 Hershel Street Jax., FL 32210 with Rev. Dr. Jonathan Lovelady officiating. Memorial contributions may be made in Nancy’s honor to Northeast Florida Community Hospice, 4266 Sunbeam Road Jax., FL 32257.
