Miguelina Ayala, age 88, of St. Croix, Virgin Island, passed away on January 28, 2024 in Jacksonville, FL. she was born in Vieques, Puerto Rico on May 7, 1935 to Dionisio Roldan and Rosa Ayala. She married Leonardo Ayala in 1956.
Miguelina worked at Bulova watch factory as an assembly technician. She enjoyed serving her church, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in St. Croix; she was a minister of the Eucharist, a Cursillista. She visited prisons, the sick and brought communion to the bedbound Catholics.
She is survived by her spouse of over 67 years, Leonardo Ayala; daughters, Eloina Phillips and Luz Nereida Ayala; brother, Dionisio Roldan, Jr.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents, Dionisio Roldan and Rosa Ayala and sister, Isaura Roldan.
A visitation for Miguelina will be held Saturday, February 10, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. A funeral service will occur Saturday, February 10, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. A committal service will occur Saturday, February 10, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205.
