He was educated in the Deptford Jersey Public School system and graduated in 1971. After graduation, he entered the United States Army where he proudly served his country. Upon leaving the Army, Mike went on to college to further his education.
Mike spent a big part of his life working for the VA medical center in Coatesville, PA; tirelessly devoting his time and talents to the drug and rehab recovery unit. He had a passion for helping victims of addiction as he also walked in their shoes.
Michael was very active to the AA and NA community, where he always made himself available to anyone, most especially, those suffering from addictions. This July would have marked his 30th year of sobriety, which was one of his proudest accomplishments. He was also an avid golfer and spent the majority of his free time on a golf course.
In 1981, he married Cynthia Staples (Sacco) and after a brief marriage they were divorced. However, as fate would have it, after searching for her for many years, in 2009 they miraculously reconnected, rekindled their flame and re-married in 2010.
In 1992, he met and married Angela Staples (Wallace) and to this union, a beautiful daughter Jasmine was born.
Above all of his accomplishments, his pride and joy was his daughter Jasmine who he loved beyond words. Mike devoted his life to raising Jasmine, nothing came before her. They were not only father and daughter but faithful and the best of friends.
Mike was a joyful, upbeat man, and he never met a stranger. He was preceded in death by his father Earl Staples, his mother Alice Staples (Beckwith), his daughter Roslyn Staples, his sisters Sandra Jones (Staples) and Regina Ramamneh (Staples). He leaves to cherish his memory his most cherished daughter Jasmine, his loving wife Cynthia Staples (Sacco) Step daughters Sara LaCross and Jennifer Nahila three grandchildren Skye, Ella, and Zion LaCross and a host of family and friends
