Thank you for allowing me to express my sincerest condolences to Dr Solloway's family and all that love him. I was his patient for about 10 years. He touched my life and my husband's. My spouse had dementia with schizophrenia and I could tell when I first met Dr Solloway that he had a deep understanding of suffering.  I spoke to him of the book by Victor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning. I knew in my heart I wanted more of his wisdom and time but reading what he contributed to mankind I feel blessed to have been in his calm, compassionate presence. I'm praying when you think of him you are able hear his laughter, feel his love and words of comfort he would offer to his family and loved ones. Wishing blessings and comfort at this time. First off....I'd like to offer my deepest condolences to Dr. Mike's family, and loved ones.  I just learned of his premature death, today.  March 24th.  Who am I ?  I am now a career oriented woman, thanks to the mentorship of Dr. Solloway.  Don't know any details of his death due to HIPPA.  But Dr.  Solloway, realized in 1987, as he was dropping patient's charts off (remember those days?), at The Mental Health and Resource Center, and told me.....little ole me.....that he sensed that I had a purpose.  He was one of the kindest people I've ever known.  His clinical skills/compassion are examples of what they should be promoting in Med Schools in the Country.  Dr.Mike prompted me to pursue a career in Nursing.  I had a very young baby at the time.  He helped me...so much, as a friend/mentor.  Motivation, compassion, humility. kindness, (I watched his service on uTube today...it's all true) actually caring for his patients...not only as his patients, but from what I've read today, he treated patients as all medical professionals should do.   Not just your MRN (medical record number).  He will be forever missed by many. RIP Dr. Mike

I am truly sorry to hear of the passing of your loved one.  Michael was a wonderful psychiatrist and a caring person.  He was respected by all who knew him. I was a patient of Dr. Sollaway’s for several years. I have never met a more competent, compassionate, caring, gentle physician in my life. I always looked forward to my appointments with Dr. Solloway. He always had a smile on his face when he came out in to the lobby to call me back to his office. He was so easy to talk to and to share with whatever was going on in my life. I am a retired RN and I’ve worked with many many physicians. However, I can say professionally or as a patient, I’ve never met a man like Dr. Solloway. I feel so blessed that I had the opportunity to know him. I know he is so loved by many and by me as well. May he rest in peace. I will miss you Dr. Solloway 💖🙏

We know the pain of saying goodbye to a loved one so truly dear to all of our hearts.  Dr. Solloway was my brother William's physician and I accompanied him to his doctor's visits.  We always looked  forward to the appointments with great pleasure and fondness knowing that Dr. Solloway would be a fair and an attentive listener, and one who respected intelligent conversations with a bit of humor.  He was quite a unique man and he is already missed deeply. There will never be another like Dr. Michael Solloway.  Jacksonville, had one of the finest Psychiatrist in this state and we were so blessed to have been under his care for at least 12 yrs. 
There are very few words that anyone can say to bring comfort to a heart dealing with grief, but know there is Our Father God who knows, who cares, and understands more than we could imagine.
Trust Him with you heart and allow his loving arms to comfort to you, especially in the midnight hour.

I had a virtual appointment with Dr. Solloway which I never did before so after many attempts to get on the site and talking with his staff he finally came on and said it was his fault he had a Dentist appointment . So our session was great and he stood up to fax something and I said ohh you have pant's on as you know all the commercials that show people in there underwear and stand up we laughed so hard. I wished him Happy Hanukah and New Year! He will be missed greatly . Thoughts and prayers to his family. 

You seldom meet someone who combines so many talents and skills, and applies them to life and relationships so effortlessly. Mike was a very special and unique individual who had all the qualities you could ever want in a friend. His contributions to his profession were outstanding, and he is truly irreplaceable as a doctor and a human being. To say he will be missed by all who knew him is a huge understatement. 

Dr Solloway helped me get my life back on track. I will never forget him. My prayers are with his family. I wish I had the words to say that wood make it easier to deal with.

When I met Dr Solloway for the first time, I liked him immediately.  His manner, personality and humor were so easy relate to.  I was stunned to hear of his passing.  I will miss him dearly as I'm sure all who knew him will.  Rest in Peace.

Dr. Solloway helped so much in fine-tuning the medications for my various issues.  Better yet, we enjoyed a full-session's worth of warm conversation every time that we met, either live or via Zoom. We have lost a very good man.....

Wayne and I were saddened to hear of Dr. Solloway's death.  I worked with Michael over the years on many mental health issues, particularly on the JCCI mental health study and implementation project.  His insights and experience were  invaluable to those of us in the mental health community.  Being around him just made you feel good.  I know he helped so many people in his long and distinguished career.  He will be greatly missed.

Dr. Solloway loved his family, his Bonsai tree and his patients. He proudly displayed family memories in his office, and lovingly cared for his little Bonsai tree like he did his patients. He was a kind, gentle, tender and understanding man. I will miss him greatly. 

Dr. Solloway treated me for several years.  I looked forward to my appointment with him because he always reviewed my concerns, made recommendations for improvement in my health, and took time to discuss my activities, my views about life and share some of his.  He was truly a wonderful doctor: a kind, patient and caring man and a brilliant doctor.

Dr Solloway was my beloved doctor for over 25 years. His kindness and direction helped me through the loss of my only child to cancer and so many other things. His kindness and laid back attitude always made be feel safe and calm. I am devastated over the news of his death. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends as well as the office staff. Dr. Solloway was a kind and encouraging presence to me at a difficult time in my life.  His advice and affirmation gave me strength.

Dr. Solloway helped my father through a very challenging and dark time after my mom was diagnosed with dementia. To the family of Dr. Solloway, I share in your grief and mourn his passing.  He is the reason I am here today.  His care and concern were genuine.  My family and myself will always be grateful for that care.  He never judged and always helped you see things clearly.  I always looked forward to my appointments. I was only Dr. Solloway’s patient for a short time, less than a year. But I could tell in that short period that he was different than most doctors. I genuinely enjoyed our conversations and appreciate the way he approached his job. It was easy to tell he truly enjoyed helping others. My prayers go out to his family, his staff, and all those that are grieving.

i was dr.solloways patient for a number of years.i know he was not in it for the  money when he only charged me a very small amount   when i could not pay. he  was very kind and compassionate and always willing to help if you were in a crisis.also he had such insight he could see right through you.a wonderful doctor he will be greatly missed

Dr. Solloway was an incredible man and physician.  He treated me for 13 years and always with compassion ❤ .  The news of his passing has left me shocked and sad. At a time when I felt life was no longer worth living I truly believe with all my heart that God guided me to Dr. Solloway.  We met in 2009 and through his gentle care I found my strength to get well and live my life.  I have lived to see my children grow and start their own families.  My relationship with my husband improved and we are now enjoying our 45th year of being together.  I am very blessed to have been cared for by Dr. Solloway. I was very grieved to hear about the passing of Michael Solloway, M.D.  As a neuropsychologist I have known Mike for 26 years as a trusted colleague and friend. We shared many patients in common over those years.  Hearing of his death makes me feel that one of the mighty oaks has fallen in the forest of our community. He was an outstanding skilled and compassionate doctor, while also a wonderful human being.  A true mensch. I always will recall fondly our discussions of patients and other topics, which would vary greatly and delightfully. He also had a beautiful sense of life and great sense of humor. When I obtained my board certification in neuropsychology, he wrote me a handwritten note “Congratulations on this wonderful achievement. And I always knew you were certifiable.” Those words coming from Mike, who was a psychiatrist, was at once touching, and hilarious at the same time.  I still have that note. 
Wishing his family and friends my heartfelt condolences, with peace and solace that he had a life very well lived.

Sending Love and Light to you.  Dr. Solloway helped me in a very low point in my life.  But he was more than just a brilliant clinician; he was understanding, kind, funny, cared for his patients, loved his family, and more. I never trusted psychiatrists or psychologists until him.   I felt as if we were friends.
I wish that there was some way to make things easier for you.  I hope that it will help just a little knowing how many and much others cared for and respected him. 


I was devastated when I heard the news of Dr. Solloway's passing.  He treated my husband for 10 years and helped him enormously until his death last January 23rd.  I was so overwhelmed by grief that my first thought was to seek out Dr. Solloway.  He saw me immediately and I felt a deep connection due to his treatment of my husband for so many years.  He counseled me through some very dark days.

I know Dr. Solloway is in heaven as he has spent his life helping so many people and I do hope his family and friends find solace in all the people he has helped.  I will pray for his soul and light a candle.

What a wonderful man and doctor.  My wife met Dr. Solloway about 1990 at a very low point in her life and he was the first doctor to correctly diagnose and treat her.  She continued as a patient of Dr. Solloway for the next 29 years until her death from cancer.  Caroline may not have survived if she had not met Dr. Solloway.  After Caroline's death from cancer I suffered overwhelming grief, and I went to Dr. Solloway and I became his patient.  His time with me meant so much to me because he was perhaps the only person in the whole world who really understood and knew Caroline.  He was a wise and kind man, and a wise and kind doctor.   I know he did so much for so many people.  Surely there is a special place in Heaven for Dr. Solloway.  Good bye, my friend, and may our heavenly Father bless you for your kindness and compassion on this earth.

I'm incredibly saddened by the loss of dear Dr. Solloway. He was a kind, gentle, knowledgeable man who always had a warm smile and an interesting story to share.  He was my valued colleague at AgeWell and took professional care of one of my family members.  I will dearly miss him. May his memory be a blessing.

Growing up I was always very against going to see any sort of therapist or psychiatrist despite suffering from depression. I convinced myself that I didn’t need any sort of help. Eventually family members asked that I go and reluctantly I did. That reluctance dissipated very quickly over the course of a few visits with Dr. Solloway. He was a very understanding person to talk to (I guess I’d imagine you’d  have to be if you’re gonna be a psychiatrist right?) and I began to grow very fond of him. Soon after my first couple of visits with him I mentioned that I was in medical school which opened up an entirely new conversation. He was always open to answering any questions I had and gave insight on what it was like to go through medical school. I even grew to admire psychiatry because of him. He helped me with my depression and ADHD and changed my life. He will be forever missed and always an inspiration. My condolences go out to his family for their loss of an incredible mind, heart, and soul. 

Dr. Solloway was a great man. He was my doctor for around 13 years. He was so nice and always listened and we always shared a laugh. I am so saddened by his passing. He was an amazing Dr. He was the only one that was able to help me with my mental health issues and helped me understand them. He knew my condition as soon as I sat down in his office just by reading my body language. I will definitely miss him as my Dr. 

Dr. Solloway saved my life! I met him in 2006 after my medication for depression stopped working. I had totally shut down and was unable to function. After many different medications were prescribed without success, he tried a MAOI that had not been used on any of his other patients at the time. The medication worked and I was able to live my life again. Over the next 14 years, he treated me. There were ups and downs but he always came up with a way to help me. He was a kind man and seemed to truly care about me.  I will miss him greatly. Hopefully my next doctor can continue the excellent care provided by Dr. Solloway.

I met Dr. Solloway through a patient of his and we became friends. I was in awe of his intellect, his compassion, insight, skill, and humor. We shared a love of books and often exchanged recommendations, discussed Jewish history, and agreed on our politics. I could never get over how he was 80 but seemed about 50; what a testimony to a life well lived!!
This is a tragic loss to the medical community, his patients, friends, family, and the world.

My heart goes out to Dr. Solloway's family, friends and really, anyone who was lucky enough to know him. 

As a patient, I obviously appreciated his intellect and insight. But he was so much more than a brilliant clinician. He was friendly and compassionate and thoughtful.  And he always made me laugh. 

I am forever indebted to him for diagnosing me with bipolar disorder and ADHD (in my 50s!). He's also the ONLY doctor of any kind to take my sleep issues seriously, which led to my being diagnosed with narcolepsy.

I will miss him, not only as my doctor, but also as a person. The world was a better place with him in it.

I have been under the care of Dr. Solloway for years. I always told people that I go to him because I just don't trust anyone else. He was a fantastic , incredible human being, and a great healer. Mike was a true friend and ally. We shared interests in jazz, art, mental health, and cocktails. I remember him for his quick wit, intelligence, and compassion. He was a great conversationalist. We talked about politics, work, religion, and other taboo topics over many lunches together. I was enriched by spending time with him and will miss him dearly. My heart goes out to his family in this sad time.
