Mattie W. Martinez

Mattie Williams Martinez 88, passed away on June 10, 2014. She was born in Waycross, GA to the late Silas and Margaret Williams. She retired from Southern Bell Telephone Co after 37 years of service. Mattie was a member of Rolling Hills Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 67 years John Martinez, daughter Ijuana (Dan) Watkins, daughter in law Barbara Martinez, grandchildren Michelle (Rob) Tibbits, Carissa (Justin) Vannoy, great grandchildren Jared and Jordan Vannoy, Alex & Andrew Tibbits. Sisters: Ada Lee Windham, Ardith Harper, Deidra Cox and brother Malcolm Williams. Mattie was predeceased by a son, John Richard Martinez, sister Remelle Bessent and brother Felton Williams. The family would like to thank the caring team at Community Hospice and all the caregivers from Home Instead. Visitation will take place on Friday, June 13, 2014 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Hardage-Giddens Town and Country Funeral Home 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205 (904) 781-9262.
