Mary Thelma Pittman Trammell, age 88, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 3, 2014, in the home of her daughter and son-in-law Mike and Mary Lois Coleman. She was born on June 18, 1925 to Jim and Annie Pittman at Lando, South Carolina. She lost her mother at a young age. Her father remarried Omie Jeffers Pittman. On August 2, 1942 Thelma married Cecil King Trammell(Bill). They were blessed with five children; their daughter, Mary Lois and four sons; Roger, Frank, Sid and Cecil. Thelma and Bill lived in Jacksonville, FL for many years. She moved to Niceville, FL in 2003 to live with her daughter and son-in-law. Thelma is survived by her daughter, Mary Lois Coleman (Mike) of Niceville, FL and her sons, Sid Trammell (Judy) of Constantia, NY and Cecil Trammell of Jacksonville; daughter-in-law Rose Trammell of Neptune Beach, FL; sister, Marlene Troyer and brother, Tom Pittman (Dot). She was predeceased by her husband, Cecil King Trammell (“Bill”); sons Roger and Frank Trammell all of Jacksonville, FL; sisters, Edna Jones, Lou Erandez, Marcie Yon, Margaret Bonner; brothers, Dolphus Pittman (Ruby), Joe Frank Pittman (Joy); step-mother, Omie Pittman; step-sisters; Sue Ward and Frances Leath; step-brothers, Harry and Larry Jeffers. Thelma also leaves twelve grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. She especially enjoyed her time with her granddaughters; Cindi Clark (Mark) and Cheryl Jordan (John); great-grandsons; Mitchell and Michael Clark and Caleb Jordan all of Niceville, FL. Thelma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She has been fondly known as NANA by her family and the many children that she baby-sat through the years. She enjoyed her life and family. You could always count on her to tell you how much she loved you. Hearts are broken that she is not with us, however, we know that heaven gained a wonderful angel. She is and will always be our guardian angel. The family would like to express a special thank you to the Emerald Coast Hospice and Betty Allen for not only taking such good care of our Nana but for being there for her family as well. Rest in peace, Nana, you will remain in our hearts forever. You are gone from earth but you will never be forgotten. The interment and services will be held at Riverside Memorial Park & Town and Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205 904-781-9262. The viewing will be held on April 12, 2014 from 1:30 pm until 2:30 pm at the funeral home followed by a graveside service at 3:00 pm.
