Mary Katherine Spell

Mary Katherine “Bitsy” Sadler Spell, peacefully left our lives on November 24, 2012. She suffered complications related to a stroke in 2006. She is survived by her daughter Emily Spell (Scott) and grandson Garrett Blanchette; parents Tom and Llew Sadler; siblings Tori (Cary), Jim (Georgia), Libby (Dennis), and Margaret; four nieces and two nephews; as well as her loving friend Athena.

Mary was born in Jacksonville, Florida, where she resided most of her life. She was known for her excellence in softball and tennis, lounging by the pool, boating, and beachcombing, as well as her avid rooting for the Gators football. Upon graduation from UNF with a degree in Finance she was employed by companies such as Kraft Foods, Heinz, and US Travel. In 2001 Mary was proud to join Medtronic, and achieved the level of Sr. Operations Finance Analyst prior to her stroke. She was well known and honored by her meritorious contributions within and outside the workplace. We will remember her fierce spirit, beautiful smile, sharp intellect and wit, and generous nature. Although she is no longer with us and will miss her forever, her impact on our lives has made us each a better person.
