Mary Alice Shepherd

Mary spent most of her life living in Jacksonville, Florida where she retired from the State of Florida in 1996 with her husband. Although she lived the majority of her life in Jacksonville, she always loved her mountains in Colorado and would travel back throughout the years. She loved horses, camping, writing, fishing and gardening but her priority in life was her “kids”. She was a loving and selfless woman who loved the Lord and would be there for any need. Mary was passionate about ensuring the family was together during holidays and included others so nobody was alone. She truly represented God’s love and became Momma to many who she called one of her “kids”. If you knew her, you knew you were loved.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Shepherd, and her siblings. She is survived by a large host of family, extended family and many who called her Momma.

A visitation for Mary will be held Saturday, September 23, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Hardage - Giddens Greenlawn Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4300 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207. A funeral service will occur Saturday, September 23, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM, 4300 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207. A committal service will occur Saturday, September 23, 2023 from 11:45 AM to 12:15 PM at Greenlawn Cemetery, 4300 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207.
