She was born on May 23, 1937 in Denver, Colorado where she grew up and eventually met her husband, Robert Schofield.
The most important things in Mary’s life were music, her faith, & her family.
Mary was a lover of music and had a beautiful singing voice. Her mother was a music teacher and instilled a love of music in her at a very young age. She sang with many musical groups and choirs throughout her life, including Sweet Adelines where she had the opportunity to sing in their quartet.
The Lord saved Mary at a young age and she spent her life devoted to knowing and loving Jesus Christ. She enjoyed serving in church and loved studying and teaching the Word of God to other women. She was known by her love for others, which overflowed out of a love for her Savior.
Mary was devoted to her family. She was a loving wife for 46 years until Bob’s death in 2004. She was intentional with each of her children and grandchildren and was always very involved with every activity or interest they had, both as children and adults. She loved each person very much and was always there to support, listen, and encourage. She was truly beloved by them all.
Mary was a remarkable woman who was loved by all who knew her.
She was preceded by her husband, Robert Schofield who she is now reunited with in heaven.
She is survived by her brother, David Furgason (Peggy) of Denver, CO, her three children, Leslie Geisenburg (Patrick), Stephen Schofield, and Mark Schofield (Jeanette), and her grandchildren, Brittany Geisenburg, Nate Geisenburg (Kelly), Kendall Easterday (Kam), Kyle Schofield, Kalie Schofield, Isaac Geisenburg, & Eli Geisenburg.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 28th at 2 p.m. at San Jose Baptist Church, 6140 San Jose Blvd.
