ROBERSON, Mary - A “Celebration of Life” service for Mary “Sue” Roberson, 67, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Riverstone Community Church in Jacksonville, FL. Sue went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 2, 2020. She was preceded in death by her father, James “John Earl” Brantley, Sr. in 2010, her mother, Alma Corrine Brantley in 2008, a brother, James E. Brantley, Jr., in 1986 and former husband James Averill in 2000. Sue was born in Micanopy, FL and raised in Jacksonville, FL. She was a graduate of Paxon High School in 1970 and worked as a parts associate for multiple Auto Parts stores retiring from Napa Auto Parts after 30 years. She loved fishing, racing, and football. She was an avid gator fan and her most favorite race car driver of all was her son-in-law Jeff Godbee. Sue had many friends she considered family and everyone that knew her loved her. Sue is survived by her sister Sarah (Rusty) Smith, her brother, Randy Brantley and sister-in-law Vernice Brantley. She was best known as “Mom” to her children Penny (Jeff) Godbee, Cheryl (Charles) Soltis and Timothy (Cameron) Averill, and “Nana” to her 13 grandchildren, Garrett (Erica) Lucas, Brandon (Taylor) Lucas, Jeffrey Godbee, Casey Creel, Ashton Godbee (Kevin), Colton (Lauren) MacLaren, Cameron “CJ” Averill, Thomas Soltis, Matthew Averill, Madolyn Godwin, Alex Soltis, Ryan Godwin, and Jocelyn Godwin and 4 great grandchildren, Madesyn, Eliana, Abigail, and Brian with number 5 on the way. Along with many nieces, nephews and great friends. A private graveside service will be held at a later date for immediate family only.
